Do you need a passport to visit Jamaica?

Entry requirements differ for travellers depending on your country of citizenship and/or residency.

For U.S. citizens, the answer is yes. U.S. citizens traveling to and from Jamaica must present a valid passport when leaving and or re-entering the United States. Your passport must be valid at the time of entry and exit. Residents must present their Alien Resident Card (Green Card) together with passport of country for which they hold citizenship.

For Canadian citizens, the answer is yes. Canadian Citizens must show a valid passport or a government-issued identification with photograph, along with an official birth certificate, when entering Jamaica. Canadian residents must present a Canadian Permanent Resident Card and a passport showing country of citizenship.

For British citizens, the answer is yes. To enter Jamaica, British citizens must have a passport that is valid for the duration of your stay in Jamaica. You must provide details of where you will be staying while you are in Jamaica (including the name and address of your hotel or accommodation).

All visitors are required to show a return ticket or onward ticket for entry into Jamaica.

Unconditional Landing:
Unconditional Landing is a facility offered to foreign nationals to stay in Jamaica. The Unconditional Landing is a type of extended stay which allows persons who are Jamaican by birth, by descent, or naturalization to work and attend school in Jamaica. This stay is also offered to CARICOM Nationals. Applications can be submitted to the Passport Immigration and Citizenship Agency with the requisite documentation.

Do you need a visa to visit Jamaica?

U.S. citizens do not need a visa for stays of up to ninety (90) days in Jamaica.

Canadian citizens do not need a visa for stays of up to ninety (90) days in Jamaica. If you are planning to stay longer, you may request an extension from the Passport Immigration and Citizenship Agency

British citizens do not need a visa to visit Jamaica. Entry may be granted for up to 90 days.

Do you need to complete a form to enter Jamaica?

All passengers arriving by air or cruise ship are required to complete the online C5 Passenger Declaration Form. You can find the C5 form HERE. There is NO COST associated with this form. You should avoid any third-party websites that require a fee to process the form.

Does the online C5 form replace the printed version of the Jamaica Immigration form?

Yes. The online C5 form completely replaces the printed paper version of the Jamaica Immigration and Customs Declaration Form. You can submit the online form up to 30 days before your trip to Jamaica. The Customs and Immigration Officer may need to ask you additional questions once you arrive. Why do I need to complete the online C5 form?

Completing the C5 Passenger Declaration Form online allows you to have a smoother security and border control experience. Many countries around the world use similar digital passenger declaration systems. Completing the form is legally required for final clearance at international airports. The form collects personal, travel, and customs information to speed up the arrival process and make it easier to move through the airport and get you to your vacation faster!

How long does it take to complete the online C5 form?

You can complete the C5 form in about 5 minutes. Ensure you have your travel documents and information about your stay in Jamaica handy.

Step 1: Go to www.enterjamaica.gov.jm. First, you will be asked to verify your email address. A code will be sent to the email address you provide.

Step 2: Once you receive the email, enter the code and you can begin filling out your personal and passport information, as well as details about your trip and your intended address in Jamaica.

Step 3: Next, you'll complete the Customs Declaration section in which you'll answer a series of 'Yes' or 'No' questions regarding what you are bringing into the country, including currency, agricultural goods, and restricted items.

Step 4: Finally, you'll be asked to review and submit the information you've entered. Look out for any mistakes and ensure all your details (especially the spelling of your name and your passport number) are correct. Accept the legal declaration to confirm all your answers are true. Then submit. You're done! The form is processed immediately and a confirmation will be sent to the email address you provided. You can take a screenshot of the confirmation and keep it on your mobile phone as you may need to show it upon landing in Jamaica.

Remember that each person travelling should complete their own C5 form.

Do children need to complete the C5 form?

Yes. every traveler that is entering Jamaica, regardless of age, must have a completed C5 form. For minors (children under the age of 18), a parent or legal guardian should fill out a separate form for each child on their behalf, with each child's individual passport and personal information. For the Customs Declaration section, you can include your children under age 18 on your own form. When two parents are travelling, only one parent should list the children on their own form.

Unaccompanied minors (any child under 18 who is travelling alone) must have their C5 form completed by a parent or legal guardian before travelling.

Advice for parents: Fill out your own form first and look for the option to add the number accompanying family members - that is, members of your family who are traveling with you. This links your travel party together so you can submit the individual passport data for your children while keeping the customs declaration tied to your household. To make things even smoother, use the same email address for every member of your family. All the confirmation details will be sent to a single inbox and you can easily access them at the airport.

What if I need help completing the form?

If you experience technical issues or need help completing the form, help is available at airport kiosks or desk agents. If you don't receive your confirmation email once the form is submitted, be sure to check your spam or junk folder first. Once the form has been submitted, you cannot edit it. If you made an error, fill out a new form online with the correct details.
