Navy Island

History:
The Navy Island is a small island off the coast of the Titchfield Peninsula in Port Antonio, Jamaica. The island, which is roughly 64 acres, was named after the British Navy that landed there in the 1730's to assist the military at Fort George on the Peninsula. The island was later purchased by Errol Flynn in 1940.

Local Flavour:
Navy Island was used as the site for the military hospital in 1728.

Famous For:
Errol Flynn, famous for his elaborate parties with celebrity guests, used Navy Island as his private retreat.
