Track, Field & Running Events:
Jamaica is famous for its three R’s: rum, reggae and runners. Our little island has gained international recognition for having the fastest people on earth, securing titles for both men and women in the Olympic Games and World Championships in 100m and 200m consecutively for almost a decade. We have produced some of the most outstanding male and female athletes in the likes of Usain Bolt and Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce, sprinting legends who have continued to dominate the world stage.
The annual Boys & Girls Championships (Champs) each spring is a great opportunity to see rising stars of track and field in action at the National Stadium, where high school students compete over three days of events. If you’re feeling the vibes, you might choose a slower pace in the island’s many marathons and road races including the Reggae Marathon, High Mountain Road Race, Kingston City Run and Treasure Beach Off -Road Triathlon. However you run - you're sure to have great fun!
