Get Your Game On!
Jamaica has had a long and colourful history in sports. The island’s tropical climate provides almost year-round opportunities for practice, friendly tournaments and competitive events. While the traditional sports in Jamaica are football, cricket, athletics and netball the island’s sportsmen and sportswomen have participated in a number of new events including those considered as winter activities.
The island’s ten picturesque golf courses are beautiful and challenging, with undulating curves and signature holes. Many of the courses are built on former sugar estates with magnificent vistas. The layout of the courses whether beachside or mountainside are a pleasure for play.
Jamaica offers several running events throughout the year inclusive of marathons and track events. For the football, cricket and netball fans, league tournaments are played in communities and clubs, as well as in regions or parishes. Most major hotels will have a tennis court with a pro available to help you hone your game. The equestrian activities are year-round with a specialized polo schedule. The polo schedule often runs from January to April and includes the visits of several overseas teams with games played in Ocho Rios, Montego Bay and Kingston.
However you play, we have the games and activities for you – whether as spectator or participant. Grab your team and use the facilities to train, refresh and recharge ahead of the next competitive season.
